Does anyone know of a good sunscreen for the top of my bald head? Skull caps and bandannas don't work for me. All the sun screen even the sport ones I've tried just runs off into my eyes ( I sweat a LOT).

Any suggestions?

I don't know what to tell you about sunscreen but I wear a "Halo" head band and it really helps a lot with keeping sweat out of my eyes. I also sweat a LOT. I'll be drenched in sweat and look around and the a lot of the other guys still look fresh.

If you dont like bandana's, the best is a cap like Tikka suggests, but not the normal cycling cap. Look for a runner's cap which is very light on top, has sweatband like tissue on the edge. It drains the sweat out through the cap front and it won't run in your eyes. I use both a bandana and the cap. The cap works best.

Anything on my head is just too hot. I've tried them all. I can barely stand the helmet!

You could try cutting of the top of the cap. Wouldn't heat up like a closed cap but the "melting" sunscreen wouldn't run into your eyes. Or maybe put on the sunscreen a little earlier?

reimann p20 - bonds to the skin so doesn't run.

Or just wear a cotton cap and leave the helmet at home...

Use a cap and dowse it with water before your ride and top it off with your water bottle when needed.

Maybe even keep it in the fridge before the ride, put it on when it gets hot.

I looked this Reimann p20 stuff up because it sounded good to use on long rides. Seems the active ingredient is PABA (i.e. that stuff that bonds to your skin), which as been linked to cancer.

Also explains why I couldn't find this stuff for sale in the USA. Just FYI.

I just cut slits in a standard superthin coolmax skullcap...

It's been a record summer for heat here in AZ (30+ days above 110, and record average temp of 96 (that's not the average daily high, that's the overall average...).

I don't much like caps either, but this is the most reasonable solution, as sunscreen runs (all of it at some point) and even the most sensitive stuff clogs skin to some extent.

I wear a SweatVac cap under my helmet, here in Arizona, and it works quite well. My head don't get any more hot with it on than with it off.
