My life story in bikes! Actually quite good fun looking back.

In the order they were bought:
c.86 Peugeot ph501 Triathlon (first road bike) shortly to be a respray project with contemporary Shimano 105 stuff.
c.98 Cannondale F700 (only mountain bike) accidently came with upgraded hydraulic disks! :D
c.01 2xCannondale Saeco team bikes Caad6 (Salvatore Commesso's) won in a Cannondale auction. Lovely bikes but 6cm's too small! Eventually sold frames when knees could take no more, kept record components.
2002 late 80's Pinarello frame (powder coated) - Bored ebay buy was to be a retro project, but I changed my mind - going to ebay it back eventually.
2002 late 80's Peugeot 653 frame (in pink & purple) - loved these colours when they came out in the 80's. Still used with full '01 Record - 8.7 kgs
2003 Cannondale 613 frameset - Current main ride again with 01 Record- 7.1 kgs fully kitted
2003 Deeside 653 frameset - another bored ebay buy (I should be banned really). At least I turned this into a nice bike with custom paint and Mirage kit as a 60th present for my Dad.
2004 Cannondale Black Lightning Caad 7 frameset - I'm eventually going to build this into a rival, in the beauty & weight stakes, to Madcows 'Project Goldmember' 8)
2005 Cannondale Caad5 frameset in pink - Bike for the Mrs if I can ever finish getting the components I want!
2007 80's ALAN frameset in silver. This time I went really nuts on ebay, but I've got everything to build this into a beautiful retro bike with Super Record, Deltas etc. Paper build puts it at 8.8 kgs!!
2008 Super 6??? Do you think I should ask for some sort of loyalty discount from Cannondale?

Funny thread............... Amazing to see the lists people have created over their lives...... Mine is a bit more simple I guess... I ride them until I'm bored with them, but it takes me a long time to get bored with one.

Mountain
1991 Trek 930 - w/ Suntour drivetrain (long since sold)
1994 Trek 7000- w/ XTR drivetrain (long since sold)
1996 Ritchey P 20 with first SRAM Carbon drivetrain - I had this one custom painted and still love the way it rides...
1999 Trek Y22 (Given to my Father)

Road
1995 Bianchi Campione - 105 drivetrain (dusty attic ornament now)
1999 Lemond Zurich - Ultegra drivetrain (dusty attic ornament now)
2005 Quattro Assi - Dura Ace drivetrain (this is my sorta WW bike)

Other funny thing is that none of them is really lustworthy like many on other people's lists, but at least when I owned them, I had the legs and lungs to make up the difference. Now with the Quattro Assi, I don't have the physical capabilities, so I've made up for it with $$$'s . In the end, I'd take the low $$$ bike and the kick arse legs/lungs back in a minute!

Road:

1 a peugot, piece of crap: it weight about 18 kg's, brakes didn't work, shifting didn't work, but i knew cycling was my new passion.
2 Atala...loved that bike, classic design still searchin for a genuine Atala frame!
3 Trek 5200, my first with 'real' shifters. shimano 600
4 Ridley scandium, had that one for half a year, nice white frame, after that i decided to never buy a white bike again. shimano ultegra
5 Colnago dream, best looking bike i had. campa chorus 10 spd
6 a team bike, a bit heavy but stiff as hell, forgot the name cause our sponsor names were on the bike. ultegra
7 Ridley Damocles, my current bike, well...current, i managed to brake 4 frames in about 2 years. Dura-ace 10 spd.

Cross/MTB

1 American Eagle first olympic, loved it XTR
2 Cyclocross Vagacini a steel crosser, realy nice, a bit heavy but still fast. Campa athena
3 Empella bonfire. Campa daytona
4 Empella bonfire SL, black/grey anodized, superb crossbike. Campa Chorus

So, 1991 forward, chronologically, but the dates are model years, not the year I owned them:

1986 Mongoose ATB (took over my Dad's)
1991 Nishiki Pueblo (mostly called Nish*ti, suntour xce w/ Scott AT-4's LOL)
1993 Giant Cadex ALM-1(suntour xc-expert)(stolen from me)
1994 GT Corrado (got to 21 lbs)
1995 GT Zaskar LE
1996 Kona Sx Too
1995 GT Timberline
1996 GT RTS-1
1996 Trek 7000
1996 Klein Adroit Pro (first tru WW bike, went under 20lbs)
1995 Cannondale R900 (first road bike)
1994 Specialized S-Works steel (went off the roof-rack at 65mph...got a warranty replace for an "ovalized headtube")
1997 Specialized S-Works M2
1993 Trek 2120 (sweet neon green/carbon mix)
1994 YETI FRO (one that got away)
1996 Ventanna El Chiquillo hardtail
1992 Mantis ProFloater (had munged up bearings, but I still should have kept it, serious collector piece now)
1995 Diamond Back Topanga
1996 Klein Pulse Comp (first wheel build)(stolen from me)
1997 K2 4000 (stolen from me)
1996 GT Avalanche (stolen from me)(all at seperate times, but within 1 year)
1999 K2 Razorback Hardtail (21lbs with rigid kinesis fork)
1994 Trek 970
1996 Schwinn Moab 1
1996 Klein Quantum Pro (17lbs w/ full DA)
2000 Trek XO-1
2001 Surly Instigator (brief stint with "free-riding")
1994 Specialized S-Works Steel
2000 Cannondale Saeco Team Edition (CAAD?)
2002 Bianchi Volpe
1996 Klein Adroit Pro (one more time around)
1994 Kona Explosif
1997 Fat Chance (really, REALLY wish I hadn't sold this)
2003 Cervelo Superprodigy (return to road riding in 2004)
2003 Rock Lobster custom road (still have the gruppo...rattling ultegra shifters and all, but in a moment of stupidity, sold the frameset)
2001 Klein Quantum Race
2002 LeMond Buenos Aires
1994 Trek 950 (was going to tour mexico on that...rigged up with Tubus, thumbies, etc.)
1989 Trek 520
2001 Dean 853 steel frame, hugi 240 wheels
2005 S-Works E5 (gruppo from the Lobster at first...then got in the 17lb range)
2004 Surly Cross Check
2006 Bianchi San Jose (singlespeed cross)
2006 Motobecane hardtail (swapped parts to current bike)
2003 Raleigh Prestige (took the gruppo again still from the Lobster and built up for a rain bike)(currently trying to sell the frame)

And now currently own:

2001 Dean 853 frame with the gruppo form the Lobster (3 days ago...I bought the frame back from the same guy I sold the whole bike to 3 years ago...funny how Craigslist can work...he painted it a sweet brown metallic, pics to come, I love the way it rides...swapped the gruppo again still from the Lobster  )

2007 CAAD9 (build almost done...if I would stop this post and put the tires on)

2006 Interloc Tempest MTB (to be sold shortly)

Typing this out, I realize I have a serious problem...I should have kept many of those...but, I'm only 28 now and haven't had much storage these last few years...and have moved around a bunch.

Many of them were bought off e-bay in the early days, ridden for a while, then tuned and sold locally for a profit...wrenched while I was in high school. Others came and went at my whim...but I can't ever remember losing much on any of them.

Am I a sluht?
