hope you enjoy your stay in munich!
thers not too much shops with the goodies around here i have to say, and those who do are pretty well spread out over the city.
If you are looking for good prices, "Bikepalast" www.bikepalast.com is the place to go. They are mostly mail order but have a pretty well sorted shop too. note the opening hours, not open on saturdays and closing quite early.
Then theres the "bicycle shop triangle":
the most cool stuff is probably on display in "Swim&Bike", http://www.swimandbike.de/ they are predominantly Tria/TT specialists but have nice road parts too.
not too far away is "Radsport Rösch" http://www.my-roesch.de/ who specialize on MTB and always have some nice Downhill- and Jumper bike stuff.
a few steps further is "Radsport Baldi" a very nice little shop for racers with italian blood in their veins (Tommasini etc.) they also do Merlin.
a few more steps bring you to "Rabe" http://www.rabe-bike.de/ a large shop with everything for MTB, Assos clothes, all the top stuff. They got a set of Lightweights on display too
another shop worth a visit is "Feine Fahrräder" www.feine.de they have Cervelo, Scott, Simplon and Principia.
Colnagos galore at Ullmann http://www.radsport-ullmann.de/
If you go there dont forget to do a few more steps and have munichs finest ice at "Sarcletti" Rotkreuzplatz
then there is "Radsport Sigi Renz", Renz is one of the worlds most successful track and 6-days racers who rode with Merckx and Sercu.

I took part in this year's Challenge Walchsee (1/2 ironman distance tri race, about 100km south from Munich). As I live in Finland, I had to use airplane which means somewhat disassembling the bike. I forgot my pedals to Finland and discovered this only one day before bike check-in closure. This means one major problem because Walchsee really doesn't have any bike shops.
I found this thread using Google and got myself back to Munich and in there to the Swim & Bike (cool shop, one room full of tri clothes and wetsuits). They were then able to save my ass by selling me Speedplays. They had very good selection of different brands so I could buy just the pedals that I actually wanted.
After sitting couple of hours in an authentic German traffic jam I got back to Walchsee. There I discover that I forgot to take the cleat screws with me. They were still in Munich! Stupid me, too careless! This was saturday and there was no way of getting back to the shop before closure time. Quick phone call to the shop and I was told that the owner of the shop was actually participating the same competition. So they gave me his personal number, he drove to Walchsee and gave me those missing screws.
In the end I got to leave my bike about 15min before bike check-in closure. A very close call.
They got some cool bike stuff too so go check in there. Very helpful guys. And thanks to WW too. This wasn't the first time my ass was saved using help from this forum.

You definitely want to avoid bikelineshop also known as bikeline Munich. In over 30 years of building, racing and riding road bikes, mountain bikes and cyclocross bikes we have never come across an outfit so laughably incompetent and horribly rude. They sold me a Cannondale Caadx CX bike just before Christmas last year and it arrived with two badly buckled wheels. They said that they would get a local Cannondale shop to sort out the repair or replace the wheels. When I asked them to actually do it they repeatedly delayed in reverting to me and then said, sorry, this repair shop does not have a 'service slot' for the next month and that they are closed in the following month, goodbye. As if a real bike shop would not have a 'service slot' free for the next month. What a dopey farce. This shop is a joke, stay away from bikelineshop - bikeline Munich and go to a real bike shop.
