It's with bitter-sweet trepidiation I await 3 days and 325 miles of cyclo-sprotif this weekend. Gonna bucket it down on Saturday but the the course should be fantastic.

My start time tomorrow is 7:30 am. Anyone else showing up?

I'll be NOT very WW tomorrow - look for an old steel Lemond Zurich with black mudguards. 21.5 lbs even when I'm far from the earth's center.

My dad should be out - CR1, Pulsions, ZG brakes, Rolf Elan, Campy Record, etc.....

But the rainy forcast may mean the old Van Tuyl gets ridden instead.

How about this year? Anyone out and about? I think I see a certain Mr. Currie on the list...

I'm signed up for the 95 miler on Sat and 103 miles on Sun. Unf on Mon I have a christening - I'm slightly relieved.

http://www.tourofwessex.com/sportiveroute.html for the route details and topographical maps...

That's not HORRIBLE. I raced/rode 73 miles and 8000 feet of climbing in 105+ degree heat last Saturday. One of the most epic races/rides I've ever done, that's for sure.

However, 95 miles with 7537 feet of climbing is still a quite a bit of climbing!

Too much for me that's for sure. I need to lose a little weight and be able to sustain a lot more power :)

It's getting there though. Maybe next year.

Keep it up, Ant, and you'll be there in no time.

Try the North Cornwall Tor, 100 miles, 11,000 feet of climbing, many 25%+ climbs and two 33% climbs. One called Bishops Wood which just went straight up at 33%, no corners, and was almost unrideable because of the slippery surface; only a handful of us got up it without walking, some struggled even pushing after 85 miles. I used a 39x23 for a challenge and it hurt!

I've only done 1 sportive 140km with 1000m of climb. Near enough killed me lol.

Warblade, thanks for the encouragement.

I've got 2 mates doing the sunday 103 mile route. I couldn't do it with them as I'm working nights this weekend. I plan to do the route unofficially as training for the etape in july.
