On the Mtb for a change today. Went over to check out the Christchurch Adventure Park for the first time since it reopened after the fires.

One of (the only?) bike chair lift in the world that's available year round (not a ski field).

So cool.

Looking up from the village at the zigs zagging down to base camp:

View from the top (actually it's a 360 view, very hard to capture more than just a small part on the cell phone camera). Note the sign - they have a series of zip lines to ride, including a crazing long one that goes right across the valley.

Probably should get some coaching...

The Zip lines are good fun...longest one is 1100m...
Get some winds blowing down the valley that adds to the fun
...but a bit pricey...

Actually about 1500km on them now and still spotless. The gloss finish is mint.

Gloss is so much easier to maintain. My white shoes are Waffa climbers and the matte finish requires special attention: weekly scrubbing with nappy san gold!

Sunday morning ride took me through Warrandyte in Melbourne's East.

My Canyon Ultimate AL SLX. Campy Chorus. Zonda C17 front Shamal C17 rear. And a very interested animal. Excuse lack of bar tape... still experimenting with cockpit before I seal the deal.

Popped out for a loaf of Hovis.

Nicest day of the year so far maybe? Even the roads had dried out, 40 miles in and the bike's still clean!

Image

At this time of year though, there always has to be somewhere :P
