Some chatter around the annual Melbourne to Warrnambool has me wondering about the list of the oldest one day races in the world. Not even Wikipedia is correct, stating the 'Warny' is second oldest to Leige-Bastogne-Leige
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne ... ol_Classic
when in fact Milano-Torino is older than both. Now I was sure I was told there is a German race that was also started before the M2W (1895) but cannot recall the name. Are there races that I have missed (highly possible)?

Think Milano-Torino is the oldest, saw numerous tweets about it when it was ridden and none was corrected. If it wouldn't have been there would have been someone who corrected it.
Other pre 1900 races are Paris - Tours and Paris - Roubaix both from 1896. If I have to believe Wikipedia Roubaix has the most editions with 115
But what are the requirements of "race"? According to this article http://thebikeshow.net/the-worlds-oldest-bicycle-race/ The Catford Cycling Club ‘Hill Climb’ is from 1887 which would make it the second oldest, but if it's up to amateur races it's hard to figure out I think. (for example, as European I've never heard of the Melbourne to Warrnambool).

I think Catford's claim is that it's the oldest continually run race.
This is supposed to be the oldest race that has been arranged every year since it started. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scandinavian_Race_Uppsala

Looking for oldest, not 'oldest continually run'. But good on them for grabbing an esoteric marketing angle
Catford still comes in ahead of the Warny, regardless of missing a edition or not.
