Probably too soon to tell. But what does yesterday's vote and violence mean for cycling around Girona. Is it safe or wise to book? Anyone know what the teams are planning? Very sad situation, Rajoy needs to go

I'm flying over to find a friend in Barcelona end Nov and we intend to drive up to France and ride along the way. The info he gave was that the airport staff is having a strike on and off and you'll need to check their strike schedule. Flying in is ok but if they strike on the day you fly out they will deliberately make the check in process real slow and painful so be there early. I'll update on details if there's any more.

Nothing, Catalans are neither armed or terrorists

What happened in the meantime (and keep happening in large cities) is much more worrying:

Yeah it was pretty shitty... but as long as you're not planning to cycle into any ballot boxes I can't imagine that you're going to encounter any problems with safety. Nothing has fundamentally changed, it's still a prosperous first world region of europe. It's not going to turn into the collapse of the Arab Spring

Exactly. As long as you're not trying to vote (or look like you're smuggling ballots) then you should be okay on your bike lol
