not worth it in august I think especially coming from Japan.

Closer from Japan I would recommend Maui and the west coast (North california, Oregon, BC).

Or Medellin, Colombia if you want something different: huge moutains, insanely friendly people, cheap and probably safer than Europe . http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/unitedhealthcare-train-in-colombia-gallery/

Right, so I have been going through all the options, and I reckon I will go to California. I have some friends there, there are some massive mountains, and I can also visit Reno to see where my heroes Jim Dangle and Travis Junior work.

If anyone wants to meet up when I am over in August, and go shredding, let me know :)
