I read Sutton's statement and he didn't say that. He specifically said that they didn't cross the line. He said if they were 95% and had a niggling issue and a TUE was available to get them to 100%, he'd use it. His statement is not even newsworthy.

the media headline spin has taken it way out of context and viewership just eats this stuff up, it's pretty hilarious

Finally some common sense. Sutton made no admission beyond using TUE’s to treat sick riders. To extrapolate that into some sort of smoking gun is absurd- as if they’d make it that easy

Ahh, I see. You are perfectly comfortable with Sutton/Sky determining when an athlete is at only at 95%, and thus eligible for a little helper.

No, but I'm pretty comfortable with the multiple independent medical practitioners that approved the dosage prescribed and WADA signing off on it on top of that.

He had a communal wanking session with Steven de Jongh in a hotel room over some TV porn.

Male bonding.

Anyone who is outraged with Sky and TUES might read up on the MPCC and the info put forth in the UCI reform commission.

What bothers me more are people in the media like David Millar. Dude used corticos himself, has written at length about it, and was in the pro peloton a couple years ago. Yet he states "When I heard that, a little bit of me died to be honest" further fueling the outrage machine. The guy is so opportunistically disingenuous.

Meanwhile no concern questions about Columbia's U23 champ getting popped for EPO.

Where do you get the Dekker book in english? LOL sounds interesting.

SCS: Slow Climber Syndrome
In my opinion, most of these TUEs are no more legit than this would be.

I am not. I don't know of any physician that routinely treats allergies / asthma with intramuscular triamcinolone. It seems to be 'standard of care' ONLY in elite level athletes.

Completely agree that is within the rules. But I think most who would look at this objectively would probably agree the TUE rules should be changed.

Can we please stop the talk about doping?

I want to hear some opinions on Van Der Poels form, riding and winning streak. He seems unbeatable, when he doesn’t have a crash or mechanical. I really hate that almost all interviews with him are in his native lanuage. I want to know what he is saying. Did he comment on the route from this weekends World cup race in Bogense, Denmark?

I started reading this thread long time ago because this was the best forum to have a look of the equipment pros were riding.

I want to see the output from his powermeter (if he uses one), watching him attack and then tear off across the "beach" at Gieten at what looked like 30+kph was an eye opener......

Pretty much unstoppable unless he crashes or breaks something. (or decides not to go, Van Der Haar the other week).

The cheer when he hit and clearer the banking at Bogense was good to hear....

We made a decision NOT to go with about 36 hours to go. (it's only a 5 hour drive for us)

Possibly the wrong decision :/

A young man doing very well at their chosen sport . Having contracts and endorsements. Sex ,drugs etc
,this goes with the territory. If this was football star etc this would not be a big deal but I think cycling fans somehow feel their hero’s should be above that sort of thing . In reality money fame etc effects a lot of young people the same. Cyclists are no different. It’s a perception that someone who rides a bike is a bit of a geek/nerd.
. I personally prefer honesty and no BS rather than paint a picture that just covers up the reality “ see Sky” cycling has not changed and people have not changed. I doubt we will ever have honesty in any sport and just carry on attacking any young person who doesn’t fit the hypocritical morals set by those who break them all the time and who are in power/ charge. Just take a look at the governments of the world ,there mostly run by insane lunatics promoting endless wars . Power ,money That’s the real corruption of the world.
