While it seems fine in this case to apply the rules properly, it does highlight the inconsistency of the Omloop podium finishers not being DQd for riding on the sidewalks after being specifically warned not to, and the bunch being physically blocked from riding in the same place... :noidea:

When does a 'touch' become a 'push'? This is one rule where there should be no grey area.
I suggest they change the rules so that no hand to body contact is allowed between riders in a TTT.

There already isn't contact allowed. And the "push" isn't someone shoving someone else forward, he's "pushing" with his legs while supporting the guy with his hand. Kind of the same idea as a sticky bottle, no one is grabbing a car and actively thrusting themselves forward with their arm.

One would have thought, that after all these years, the simple sport of bicycling would have a clear set of rules.
But no.
Thank you UCI for constantly being about the money rather than the sport.

It's just shameful that we couldn't even have 30 seconds from the women's DDV finish line when all the hardware and software were already in place. Yeah the men had a break going but the decisive moves and last climbs were yet to come.

What a men's race though. Turbo Durbo and Lutsenko must have known they were racing for 3rd as soon as the first attack came.

TJ will be 16th on GC by race end.

This. Depends on wich language book now ;) .
IMO people arguing about "only a touch, not a push" miss the point. At 55 + km/h a touch from another rider is " illegal help ". Period. Know the rules, pro cyclists !!

OTOH race commissaires.... well .... not their first or last questionable call...

Louis :)

yo rojas should have gotten a time bonus for the push. be like judge, "you know how hard it is to ride in a TTT paceline with one arm on the base bar, on a windy day with disc wheels, while shepherding a riding in front of you?"

No Kwiatkowski for the cobbles - are they saving him for the Ardennes?

Beaten to it by Nate, who else. To Cyclingnews Mr. Flowers said:
"I'm skipping the cobbles this year. I'm very sad about it because there's a special atmosphere in Belgium but I have to specialise into something and I'm aiming for good results in the Ardennes; I can't combine both the cobbles and the Ardennes Classics"
