Oh, that explains the angry honks that I get all the time...

Joking aside, there are actually quite a bit of non-Italian bikes that I see every day.
For myself, I'm already cash-strapped as a student, the Bianchi i could afford would be much worse than the Giant.

Hey dude!

i'm not so far from you i was living for one month in Torino as i study automotive eng. there. There is a lot of nice roads.
I plan to do the loop around the lago maggiore this week end, are you interested?
anyway we can keep in touch and plan a few rides!

Just wait until summer. A two hour train ride from Milano takes you to Tirano. From Tirano, a one hour bike friendly bus journey takes you to Bormio where the bus stop is quite literally at the base of the Southern climbs of the Stelvio and Gavia.

There's the Madonna del Ghisallo and Grappa climbs before Bormio, but I'll need to have a good look at the descents because I'll have to descend like AN ABSOLUTE MAD MAN to not melt the carbon wheels. Maybe I'll source a crappy alu front wheel to get around that.
