Eagle Rock is so hot these days that developers and realtors market many of the adjacent (lower income) communities as Eagle Rock. Just before the banner went up, a homeless encampment was cleared from the sidewalk. A rising tide...

I was in Eagle Rock yesterday and drove by Occidental. Eagle Rock is part of my regular loop as I live a few miles away. Fun fact: Occidental's first location was first located in Boyle Heights (my hometown).

My sister was heartbroken as she had her heart set on Occidental but they only accepted one kid from her tiny girls' school.

Thank you for the update! I thought Eagle Rock was indeed hot these days. When I was there, it most certainly was not. Lunch from Julio's bucket or a sandwich from Auntie 'Ems was all we could get, unless we hauled into Pasadena. I remember riding a Fuji that probably weighed 40 pounds up the hill (to the location where an auditorium was constructed in the 90's) to the top of campus, and bombing down without a care in the world. Dumb college kid that I was...

Nothing like a smooth, sunny, spring ride on my Colnago master.

Thanks! It's nothing like what some people post here, but a nice spring day is beautiful anywhere. It's just outside of Brussels, so you weren't too far off ;)

Depends on your definition of wild ;) used to have one that was 7' tall that would wander in the back door and eat toast off the kitchen bench :)

Aaarrgghh.

I both love and hate this thread in equal measure! Seeing all these amazing alpine passes drives me nuts.

I have to ride more than 100k to find a hill that takes more than 3 minutes.
