Some pictures from my recent trip to Colorado and New Mexico.

Just east of Boulder somewhere. Colorado is a great place to just ride and get lost on a ride.

Near Lyons, CO.

CO-7 around Allenspark, CO. Rocky Mountain National Park in background. Elevation around 8530' (2,600 meters).

Rainbow Curve Overlook on Trail Ridge Road (Highway 34), in Rocky Mountain National Park. Looking east. @ 10829' (3,300 meters)

Alpine Visitor Center @ 11,796' (3,595 meters). Had great weather and beautiful scenery.

Grand Lake on Highway 34 just outside of Grand Lake, CO.

NM-475 on the way up to the Santa Fe Ski area.

Still on NM-475 looking out west from the lookout area, @ 10,300' (3,140 meters), and looking down onto Santa Fe, NM.

Hey Tugboat,

I like your photos, especially the colours, crispness and contrast.

With what model of phone/camera are you taking the photos?

We have similar quality of light down here my pictures are somewhat dull and bland.

Do you have any tips, tricks or advice?

Cheers Squashednuts, If the ride is more of an adventure than a day-to-day ride, then I'll put up with a little inconvenience and swing a decent camera over my shoulder. In this case they are shot with a Sony A7R - Canon EF 17-40L combo and then post processed in Adobe Lightroom.

Thanks kytyree! A good thing about riding in Norway is that even if you live in the larger cities country roads are never far away :D. Also, the west coast and up north is really a cycling paradise.

I've only been around Stavanger and it was a very short notice trip so I was only able to go run while I was there. But it was gorgeous and like you said though I was in a hotel in the city even with my short ~30min runs it was pretty easy to get out into some beautiful scenery.

If the beer was cheaper it would be perfect! :-)

Haha, going to Norway is actually not as pricey as before after the oil price went down. Good thing is that tourism has taken a considerable upturn as a result of it. Beer is still not cheap though :( :(

Even with a 1:8 USD to NOK exchange, Norway is ridiculously expensive. From hotels, to car rentals, to gasoline to food. I know, as I have spent much of my childhood growing up there, plus have visited often and still have close family there. Definitely not a place to go vacation if you are on a budget.

I was on a business trip and we had rented one sedan for us to get around in, it cost us more to park the car under the hotel than it did to rent it. Not saying the rental was cheap, only that it was less... This was a Days Inn or something similar, nice but not a fancy hotel.

Still would love to go back, see more of the fjords etc

^ Best place that I have fond on all my travels in terms of scenery & low cost as a tourist (good exchange rate with ability to live like a king while visiting) has been Patagonia. Argentina being significantly cheaper than Chile, but both being very affordable.

I've been lucky to travel quite a bit, and nothing has touched Patagonia for me in terms of the rawness of the natural beauty. Not to mention, lack of crowds and traffic.
