Top ride, mate. Stuffed most of the pre-race favourites.

LOL - Maybe that was the difference between winning and 3rd...
EDIT: Jamie's HC bike is normally running a single small ring.

Ouch.
Cheers Guys!
Glad it's all over and happy with a medal. Gold would have been great but the hill was just a bit too long for me... Needed to lose a kilo or find 10W. Really pleased for Adam, in hospital a week ago after he got hit by a car, borrows a bike and wins the nationals, classy!
Plan was to go hard for the first 1'45 then try and hang on - nailed that with 600w for 1'45 then the last bit at about 430. Did mean that i've never felt as horrible as i did just after the line, but at least i got it all out. Time to start eating again, been dreaming of a nutella & peanut butter croissant for some reason and with 6kg lost in 2 months i'm going to pig out for a bit.
Think i mostly rode in 39x17, changed down to the 16 briefly at the start but came back up again pretty quick. Stuck with the 39 because my sister was using my bike and didn't want her putting the derailleur anywhere near the spokes, just in case... She only did her first hill climb 3 weeks ago and was out partying midweek so 4th is pretty special - watch this space
Bike is mostly cobbled together out of parts i've found on here or cheap deals online. Powermeter was to make sure i was at 600w after a minute, but not anywhere near 700 (Except i did 30s at 700 so that didn't really help). I could have saved about 300g and got sub-5kg with my Zipp Vumaquad cranks but it wouldn't have got me close to the winner and i wanted the data so no stress. I needed the garmin anyway to get the strava segment
Frame: Planet X Nanolight
Fork: Planet X, sanded down to save about 50g in paint
Seatpost/Saddle: Combo i got from Dino0204 on here - think he built it as a uni project, weighs 147g
stem: FRM thing
Bars: 3T Rotundo, cut right down
Cranks: Rotor 3D24 with P2M Type S, single 39t chainring
BB: Rotor Ceramic
Chain: KMC X10SL with wax coating from Shopforwatts.com
Rear Derailleur: 10-speed Sram Red
Cassette: Sram Red 11-23
Levers: Sram Red 10-speed, internals stripped out of RH shifter
Pedals: Keywin - set up for my sister in the photo with her Looks
Front Wheel: Custom build from DCRWheels - no idea what but 403g
Rear Wheel: Planet X 20mm
Front tire: Tufo Elite sub115g tub 19mm
Rear Tire: Tufo Elite sub135g tub 22mm
Brakes: Planet X CNC
5.2kg with garmin and air in the tires, Quite easy to save a fair bit of weight, but not without spending a fair bit of cash. Don't worry, i took out the fork expander and top cap before the ride

Well at least you got the KOM.
Interestingly Strava has you 5s up on Isaac over any number of the 20 or so segments people created for the 2016 course. Have you put in an official protest of the result yet?

haha congrats. Didn't want to modify bike at all? (why rear brake in this case?)
UK hill climb rules - if you have gears then 2 brakes. Fixed you are allowed 1.
Edit - technically I think it is fixed = 1 brake rather than the other way round (if it matters).

Great ride JamieL - inspiring
Interesting to post the bike too. What's the thinking on going geared vs fixed out of interest, for use on wider range of gradients?
6kg in 2 months from a presumably far from obese starting point is impressive
