On top of the Col de Tende on our light tour from Milan to Nice. Descended the unpaved side into France on 25mm tyres which was a little sketchy at times especially with a pannier on :)

Big ride for me. Tour du Mont Aigoual (or an emulation thereof) as per Tim Krabbe's "The Rider". Bit of a dream come true for me. Did not disappoint. Climbs, rolling terrain, descents and beautiful views. A really great day for me. :D

Col de Peyresourde (rather dry after 2 months without rain)

hard work to get there but descending is easy and fast

Great Pics! Hope to get over there for some significant time next year to make up for my lost season this year.

Thanks, I stayed in Arreau and it was a good base for many rides. May be next time I will stay in Luz-Saint-sauveur .

Road to Pla d'Adet (ski station)

Col du Portet on the other side, unfortunately not completely paved so I did only few kilometers (it would have been difficult descending on gravels with those 10% gradient)

Is what looks like a road, in the lower right portion of the nearby mountain, really a road? If so, what is the gradient? Starting from where it turns left, and then switchbacks its way up the mountain, it looks like a normal mountain road, but that lower right portion looks insane. Or is the apparent steepness just an illusion?
