A tight jersey is still better than one flapping around. For such a close finish I don't blame him on complaining about the jersey

He did wear a skinsuit on the first stage:

Skinsuit - speedsuit, call it what you want, but it is not bibs and jersey. It is a one-piece suit.

Looks like an Oakley Logo instead of the manufacturers logo. Guess that gets around some kit rules regarding logos and sponsors.

Lars Boom on yesterday's ITT, 500 watts for 15:00...geez

oldie but a goodie...

protocol... Each rider would start at 150watts and ramp their power by 30 watts every 3 minutes so you would see 150,180,210,240,270 etc until the rider usually reached 4mmol on their lactate levels. When the rider has reached 4mmol then the ramp change to 15 watts every 1 minute until failure, so it would look like 240, 270, 300, 315, 330, 345 FAILURE @ 355 for 30 seconds. The figure they finish at is their VO2 max Ramp test number.

Is that power real for sure? He didn't do too good for all that power, almost a minute behind.
His speed signal is bad that's for sure.

I would love it if the TdF ran one of the time trials in each race, assuming they have more than one which isn't always the case, in this format. Riders could use whatever wheels they wanted but would have to use road bikes with no aero bars. I think it would be fantastic.

If you zoom in on his Strava-file, the power from starting to the end is a bit less than 500w, but not far off. (Could be that my zoom is inaccurate too).

Doesn't seem that extreme to me. Sure, it's hard to maintain 500w for 15 minutes, but not impossible. Boom is a big guy after all. Anyone know his weight?

Ps. On a personal note, I am super excited to see Boasson-Hagen in top shape! It could be a great year of redemption if he manages to capitalize on his current form for the classics. So much unmet expectations over the years...

lol wut?

phinney won dubai ITT in merckx style 2014 , 488w for 12:03 at 190lbs. So boom doing 500w for 15:00 minutes , surely near (but not above 190lbs) is impressive.....

i do like the idea of merckx ITTs. more man than machine (one could argue.)
