And 'only' 330-350w at something close to that weight IS a powerhouse.

Rasmus Quaade was 6th in the 2013 Worlds TT.

The only thing I'm sure about is, that this spring he did a post on Facebook with three bits of information: 61 kg, 185 cm and 375 watts @ 20 minutes. That's it. If he didn't tell the truth, then that's on him. Still a very impressive performance for an amateur. And evenly if not even more impressive done by Rasmus Quaade in 2013.

He's retiring after Roubaix so he better aim his form well! First time in years he's not going into the off season injured though, so that bodes well.

Anyone else notice Mathieu Van Der Pol and his team had a mid season helmet sponsor change? Wearing a blacked out Bell Gage in Gieten 2 weeks ago and this past weekend in Zonhoven a Lazer Z1. Mid season sponsor changes are fairly common after the new year but not so common in mid October.

well, until spring 2016 Telenet-Fidea used Ridley-Sram-Lazer

for the new 2016-17 season they are using Trek-Shimano-Bontrager

in 2006 Phonak changed from Catlike to Giro helmets during the summer

Well that's 6w/kg at a flyweight, so that's massive power.

He was 13th, that's not possible by only being very aero.
I know, because I am quite aero myself, but exactly 100W less power. :) About the same height, about the same weight, very aero too. Too bad I only miss the most important ingridient, power. :[

You think of those two rather short mountain stages?

Marc Sergeant (Lotto Soudal) has commented he's very happy with the many chances for the sprinters, he's identifying 9 sprint stages.

Epic battle between Wout and Mathieu in Zonhoven this weekend. And fortunately without any mechanicals. What a great race. Seems they are equally strong. Even though Mathieu pulled away a couple of times, Wout always came back. Also Wout didn't make any grave mistakes, and Mathieu didn't gamble too much either resulting in crashes. Finally a race settled without any disturbing "noise" on any sides. Pure strength and balls.

The whole thing is available here, georestricted though:

So. Good.

It must be great for both of them to be so even and have a real arch rival to beat.

They seem to have a lot of respect one for another, which only makes the duel even more enjoyable to watch.

Say what you want about TUEs etc, but the good this year definitely outweighs the bad in my book.

Looking back at the year, and forward to an epic cross season, a lot of good moments come to mind.

Michael Woods kicking off the year down under, showing why he deserves a WT spot.

Moving forward, excellent editions of LBL, Flanders and Paris Roubaix.

The Giro was great too with a dramatic ending.

Cavendish and Sagan lit up the Tour. The GC was dull though...

Olympics... Well, not a trackie, and road race was stained by the accidents.

The Vuelta was great too.

The worlds with a podium of world champs and echelon carnage.

All in all, I am looking forward a lot to next year.

A nice Chaves/Pinot/Kruijswijk/Aru battle at the Giro... Can Sagan continue his magic spell in WC stripes? With hopefully stricter TUEs, can Froome win the Tour again? Will we see discs go pro?

I can't wait! Fortunately cross season is here and what a season it will be.

So true. There's basis for a lot of epic battles this winter. Really hope none of them have accidents.

Can't help to wonder though:

1) How would they compare to Nys, if he had another season. Nys would probably get dropped every time.

2) But how about a younger Nys, when he was at his absolute best?

3) And how would Stybar compare, if he focused completely on cx for one or two seasons? His road adventure hasn't been very successful this season. Seems no one is even close to the two top dogs. Sweeck is awesome too, but still not at their level. And I don't think Lars will be a threat either.
