I once set a KOM on a descent following two Astana guys (Tiralongo and ?) ... and that was despite them dropping me half way down!

In 2007 Kristoff and Hushovd had no Strava in that winning break. But if it's not on Strava it didn't happen.

Apropos Astana: Norwegian powerhouse Truls Engen Korsæth is training with them now. Interesting.

In other news Stefano Cecchini, son of the more famous Luigi Cecchini, could probably turn pro next year.
In the Gazzetta interview he mentions that after noticing his time on Passo Giau (just 1 minute slower than Nibali at Giro) a WT DS asked him to do 3 climbs and send him the file.
He mentioned that he has already been in touch with 2 Pro Conti teams, Vini Fantini and Androni, but apparently he wont ride for them.
In the past there has already been a granfondo rider who moved to WT level and it didn't end up well.

Saw on Twitter that he is 38 years old? Sounds a bit too late to turn pro at that age.

No sign of aqua blue colour scheme either?

Gold Shamrock might have been a better team name if that is their logo.

Bad news for Old Lampre / TJ Sports: http://www.velonews.com/2016/12/news/tj ... ure_425854

Seems to be more problems with Chinees backers. As stated in the article with AC Milan. There is also a small dutch football team that has been acquired by a rich Chinees guy. They are also having financial issues.

Edit:
Other news: Velon and Infront Sports & Media are going to organise a new 3 day cycling event. First in The Netherlands (2,3,4 June) around the Cauberg and Sittard-Geleen. The news also says there will be 1 in Swiss (end of August) and 1 in South Africa (end of October). The setup for The Netherlands is said to be a sprint race on day 1, 10x up the Cauberg on day 2 and a Team pursuit on the last day. Maybe also with live data and onboard footage.
