^This. Make it a Sticky! If Starbike really wants to continue with the offer, it is probably best not to fight it and just give these folks a place to post.

As stupid as it sounds, it may actually work!

Minimum word count is a bad suggestion I'm afraid guys - would just lead to cut and paste rubbish being posted

It's a commercial decision I assume to increase the marketing value of the forum - i.e. more active users

I thought the purpose of a certain number of posts was to help ensure that the user is legit and not just a scam artist looking to rip people off or something. Not sure this really works, especially if people can just post randomly like they are doing. If those kinds of posts count, then I don't think the "post count" rule is even coming close to achieving its goal and may as well abandon it altogether and caution buyers to beware of buying from unknown sellers, as they should be regardless.

I can't help but notice many of them having Korean sounding usernames... Wouldn't have guessed that they are big fans...

Heyguys,

which actions would you suggest? I just increased to 25 posts okay.

What more? Min. 1 month registrated time?

nmx - impressed by the response!

I interpret the 10 / 25 post discount as attempt to increase the Forum's value, by that I mean the (essentially marketing) value of the forum.

So you have to balance the objective of driving more traffic to the Forum with maintaining the Forum's quality

For that reason having a "post rubbish here" section may not work ...

Adding a one month minimum and seeing how that goes might be worth trying yes

nmx, the paceline has a two month time req and a minimum post count and doesn't suffer the spamming problem we do.

Their for sale forums are also very active.

F45,

What do the mods at paceline do about the spamming issue? Delete? Warnings followed by a ban?

Maybe make the requirement be at least 25 words to count as a post. That would eliminate these scammers from writing 2 word posts such as "good info". When I see a suspicious post, I immediately report it.
It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.

nmx, I went and checked and you have to be a member for 30 days plus a 30 day post minimum to post in classifieds.

velomane, I do not know how they mod.
