Possibly the most unknown former pro that will be mentioned on this thread. He holds a special place in my memory because he was the sole Irishman in the 2004 Tour when myself and three university pals and fellow countrymen spent six weeks cycling around France on mountain bikes modified as touring bikes and met up with the Tour at the Col du Forclaz on an epic stage to Le Grand Bornand. To think there were no Brits in that years Tour. Oh how times change, sorry to bring up superfluous details, but I love jogging my memory of that summer.
