I will be in Europe next month and I arranged it so that I will be in the venice-venoto-treviso area when the Giro passes through on the 21-23 of may

21 may- mountain stage, imola to vicenza- peloton arrives at 1700 in vicenza ( unlikely I'll be able to watch this, unless I somehow rush from venice to vicenza in 6 hours.

22may- flat sprint stage, ( see map : http://www.gazzetta.it/Giroditalia/2015/en/stage/13/). passes through mestre and I intend to catch it here. mestre, however, is about 40km from the finish so it may be boring....

23 may ITT in Trevisio. I could take a bus up to watch.

Has anyone watched the grand tours live before, and any tips on wheres good to watch it? any local knowledge would be nice too.

From Venice to Vicenza it will take only 1 hr and a half roughly by train and the train station is just 2-3 kms from the finish line.

My tip is not to go at finish lines cause........you dont see much!
The best part is mostly at starting area where you can see some team cars/bikes etc while walking around.
