Wondering how others charge their USB accessories all together.

I have 5 accessories I need to charge at once. Two thunderbolt lights, garmin 510, iphone, and HRM wrist strap. Switching them between the USB outlet on my laptop individually is a pain to remember so I bought a USB power hub to do it all at once. The hub has its own power source. Something with the hub and amount of power it was getting fried all my accessories (got them replaced luckily).

Anyone have a convenient solution?

A better hub?
Mine has 2*2.1 amp (tablets, GPS devices) and 2*1 amp (phones etc).

Why not just use wall outlet adapters? The Garmin 510 comes with one stock. The iPhone comes with one stock. I assume you have more than just one outlet plug in your home?

Might be at work. I know my desk has a grand total of one spare socket once my phone, monitor, lamp, docking station and second laptop are all plugged in....... Luckily the docking station has 6 or 8 USB ports, and the monitor has another 3 or 4.

There are companies like Plugable that have multi-port USB docing stations that can support multiple iPads and the like, http://plugable.com/products. If you are US based take a look at Newegg for USB Charging Stations.

That Anker on has the best ratings, but I didn't know that when I got mine. However having one attached to the wall at the socket is very nice.

I use dedicated charger for my USB devices. Provides a lot more current for fast charging.

thp,
not really though. 12A just means 2A per device, which is the same charging rate as pretty much any modern wall charger made for tablets. Even if it were able to provide that level of current to a single port, each device has its own charge controller that will current limit to protect the device (iphones are pegged at around 1A, 2A for most tablets)
