It's time to change my bib shorts, I must admit I have had bibs from China, but the padding now after 10months isn't that great.

I have been looking at Castelli and Assos.

Can anybody give me any advice? I am using a Fizik Antaras saddle and do sit more middle/front of the saddle.

Thank you....

I know it used to be that Assos was on the thicker side. Still might be. Castelli has two pads both of which I am ok with. Even with the gel inserts on the top model it doesnt get too thick.
If thick is better for you then give Assos a try.

Thank you.

I would be the lower end Assos T FI.Uno S5 Logo.

Thick sounds better, as the saddle having little padding and I sit front to middle of the saddle.

You can get the S5 unos at assosoutlet for about $115 nowadays. Great value, TERRIFIC shorts. My favorites.

Why don't you move your saddle to the front a bit, then? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I used to have my saddle too far back for coolness and aesthetic reasons. Trying to fix that with bibs is ... questionable. That said, I love Castelli, and am sure Assos is equally nice.

Both are great but it's about fit and how the pad works for you ...

I prefer Castelli.....

I've had both (including newer Assos) and I have to say more and more I lean towards my Castelli (bodypaint and aero, both with x2 pad). Fwiw I'm M in Assos and L in Castelli (180cm, 75 kgs).

There is no comparison between the two in terms of quality, but comfort will depend on each individual. I find neopro to be the most comfortable of the assos line, which also happen to be the cheapest.

Not disputing quality difference at all, Assos kills it there, but you can also get 2x bodypaint for price of 1 Assos if you look hard enough.

half the happiness for half the price is a pretty fair ratio I think.

if you hunt for both the price is a wash, at least with the S5 Assos.

I disagree that that the bodypaint is not the same quality too, I think the body paint is a better bib and is more technical...

Anyone here can compare the quality of the chamois pad of chinese bib shorts to Assos or Castelli?
I understand they're (very likely) to be miles apart in quality, but I can't justify the cost..
And to be honest, the stitching around the pads gives me a little chaffing.

You can find high quality stuff for really cheap if you want. No need to buy any junk clothing...
