virtual partner garmin

The virtual partner (a little dot on the map/virtual peleton for time gaps) will ride at 15mph along your route which you can then mark yourself against on the various screens.
The main issue is that it rides constantly at the speed independent of road conditions/gradient. Thus it can end up doing unrealistic speeds up hills and then painfully slow down the other side.
IIRC you can also use previous rides along the same route if you want to beat a previous time which I think is more useful as it uses your speed from the previous ride at the appropriate point which naturally corrects for these factors
