I'm looking into a trip to Girona soon and I'm curious if WW members can recommend places to go or to stay. Routes would be welcome too.

So far I've found;
http://www.gironacyclecentre.com (seems to be good)

http://www.gironacycling.com (no idea)

http://www.bikeholiday.ch/index.php?id=408&L=2 (Wobbly; Excellent)

http://www.hotelhistoric.com/ (Pkeibel; Good)

Thanks for your reply's all.

@ Dan, I'm aiming to go 2nd half of February. The bike is ready but my workschedule is not. I'm probably booking with cyclecentre there.

The camera is definately coming along so I'll post some updates and tips when I get them.

I've only spent an afternoon in Girona on a side trip from Barcelona (no riding, unfortunately), but I did stop in to the Girona Cycle Centre- it is a very cool shop staffed by really nice people!

@tomstr, post some pics when you get back! I'd appreciate any tips you come across after your trip.

Bike Breaks Girona (should be on gironacyclecentre, your first link) are the perfect start for cycling in the Girona area. Excellent bikes for hire, friendly, knowledge of the area, experienced (competitive) cyclists themselves, (co) owned by a couple of (the many) resident pro's (many of whom frequent the place). My experience with them dates a year or two back, but I can't think why any of that would've changed. I was there just 24 hrs and they set me up with a bike (Cannondale, perfect condition), provided a route. If you have gps it's easy anyway, many routes available.
Fairly busy main road out of the city, but it doesn't take long to get onto the smaller roads and into the beautifull and fairly challenging back country. Flat(ish) terrain is also quite close. Hope the weather plays along, have fun and report back.
.
I love you guys. Seriously.

Hi there
I went to Girona in Feb 2013 and 2014.
Rented a Cannondale from Girona Cycle center (www.twitter.com/bikebreaks) they had a triple chainring (needed, early season and steep hills)
nice service and friendly people
I stayed at the Pension Margarit, 10 min walk from the center

Choose the local roads and avoid the national roads (N.)

here are some rides
