Juan- Next time you're in Oakland drop me a line I have some great routes to send you on that might roast you a bit less than Diablo and take you through a half dozen different types of forests within a 50mi ride.

Dilbert: That Ellsworth screams MTB class... hope you found some good trails, lovely area!
Dalai: MSR tent? Anything overnight with the bike is lust-worthy in my opinion. Sad fact that for most of us they are few and far between, enjoy!
Herb is also on the right track. Looks like a great day in the Rocky Mountains!

Good job, how did you enjoy TT'ing for that distance? I guess that is your first and last 40km given that you're hanging things up in a month or so here?

Thanks! 40km TTing was really really really tough. played around with positions , pretended to know what i was doing in the week leading up. There was a 10mph headwind the first 1/3rd so i had some elaborate strategy, but immediately i knew i was going to be zapped of power the whole duration. So i did go slightly* harder into the headwind, but overall power was zapped and not what i think* i could have done. It was really hot that day, wish* i could have worn my TT gear more prior to the race, etc etc etc.

Overall , happy though. I didn't rest for the event, because of page valley and tour of millers burg coming up soon, and i think my time and power was the best i could have done given the prep, the rest, and fully draining the tank day of. I was aiming for my teammates time from last year (wind conditions aside) and we both finished the same time off of blair berbert's winning time , so maybe it was a success... lol

it was crazy..... suffering so bad, nuts going numb, looking at the signage at the side of the road then reading 20km left.... oh em gee.

Cool deal. Power prediction is one thing, but performance is probably the best indicator of the actual power in that position and gear and stuff plus a few percent from rest. What is left on the schedule? You still claiming that this is the last year of racing or have you changed your tune on that one as well? Have fun at Millersburg, that is by far the 2nd hardest crit I have ever done.

Spend some time in the French/Spanish/Andorran Pyrenees. Did some of the crazyness of the coming stage 11 at the Vuelta.

Feeding my singletrack addiction: Rosemary Hill trail. It is 27km long crossing several farms and small holdings. It has some cool bridges and berms 8)
