In between bike. But if only two I'd go with the beater, which I assume is in good working condition. It's a lot more convenient if you want to stop along the way or potentially take alternate transportation home. And if helps keep your nice bike on excellent condition for when that's important.

I have secure parking at work, so I use a nice bike (Carbon CX with Ultegra & 30mm road tires) which makes commuting so much more fun. As a consequence I hate the days where I have to take my rain bike (MTB with fenders).

Took another chance on posting the shots I took on the 17th of March. Unfortunately not a mountain or a hill in sight, but that's riding in The Netherlands!
The cockpit:
Trees looked great in the morning sun:
Riding the dike:
A landmark in sight:
Very quiet during a morning ride, but a busy place on sunny Sunday afternoons:
The view I normally get from riding in my area:

A view that's wel known to me. But there is a beauty in that as well.
Nice photo's, somehow I got the feeling it's Noord-Holland?

Thanks! There's beauty in it for sure, and to be honest I am only 30 km away from the hills around Nijmegen. The pictures were taken riding from Oss to Grave and back. That's Noord-Brabant, but I understand why you say it looks a bit like Noord-Holland.

Thanks Sjoerd. Pictures from my traditional trainingride. It can be as beautiful as brutal.
A very pleasant area to spent some time on the bike.

And if I ever meet an aardvark, I'm going to step on its damn protruding nasal implement until it couldn't suck up an insect if its life depended on it.
