I have no problem with people wearing pro kit if that's what they want. I was confused that someone would've been *racing* in it. In the UK, it's plain kit or club/team kit. (though that's not always policed in Cat4)

Yah, but sometimes people own what they own or can afford. My buddy used to race in an FDJ kit until he was a cat 1 because that's what someone gave him and he was quite cash strapped. Sure, not ideal, but if the person is a good bike racer and person then whatever. Its a kit.

Typical BC nitpicking, no wonder racing almost died in this country!
It sure is nitpicking, but over here people have been fined even in smaller races. Not because they were riding pro kits, but because they'd forgotten to report their club's kit to the federation for the season (!).
Also people riding ITTs in neutral skinsuits, all white/black/green whatever, have been fined for not using their club's suits.
