Cannot find any Action! Pictures thread, so I post it here. We did "my" race this Thursday, Gylne Gutuer. These are shots I took for the magazine I freelance for, and you might find djm in them somewhere. He'll be at the back.
60% macadam, 40% gravel/dirt
Team Joker was inn full control, doing a Mapei in the end.
Hitec Products was in total control too. Here therace winner Cecilie Gotaas Johnsen, wearing the Norwegian Cup leaders jersey.

Lovely pictures and a great parcours! Sadly yes, I was somewhere in the back. Woke up the next day with some really nasty noises coming from my lungs, so I definitely need further patience before doing anything anaerobic. Definitely a race I'll come back to! It's fun to partake in a race where you can really sense that the organization has put thought into the course and that it's just not a random row of compromises (typically "where do we lead the race to reduce the need for marshals", or simply an over-driven fear of even 90 degree turns).
Also very entertaining to see how the race evolved. The wind and the gravel sections helped tear everything apart. I've never seen such gaps as in the men's race in a Norwegian Cup, especially on the final two laps where obviously most were nearing empty.

Weather in Victoria has been terrible for most of April and May (normally 2 of the best months of the year down south). Got out today and my girlfriend went up Kinglake for the first time. Not a massive climb, but she got through 1400m of vert in 83km like a champ! Pity it's a hell of a lot flatter where we live.
Similar sentiments as Tinea Pedis, this autumn has been abnormally crap for riding here in Geelong; in fact the spring and summer just past were pretty ordinary as well!.. This weekend was an exception with some great weather; this morning I got out for a few flat laps of town while waiting for the fog to clear before heading to the only hill in the(my) area.

cannot support the socks over leg warmers though.....
I always wear a helmet - this was taken after the ride was done. Thanks for all the harsh words and considerations about not wearing one, good to have such reasonable and wise forum.

Even if you weren't wearing a helmet I think we are free to chose to wear one or not, unless it's obligatory by the law of your country
Wasn't there some study done in one of those countries where everyone rides bikes such as The Netherlands that found that those that wore helmets actually had a lower incidence of crashing and serious injury?
I'm not sure I can sign off on the new Oakleys yet, but that Colnago is pretty rad. Not normally a Colnago fan either, but I'd rock the shit out of that bike.

Not sure I understood your question but I'm pretty sure that in a city, the most experienced cyclists will wear a helmet while the occasionnal won't wear it because "it looks bad"
Of course I'm taking a short cut but experienced cyclist => knows the importance of helmet => wears one
