I don't wear a helmet. That's my choice and I have a nice big head of hair. I think wearing a helmet it contributes to hair loss.
I mean look at race car drivers and a lot of the peloton are balding or have thin hair.

Your hair like your skin needs to breathe. Your scalp too has pores that need air and helmets cut out this air. If your scalp feels claustrophobic then it retaliates by shedding hair. Perspiration: When your head sweats inside the helmet and the sweat accumulates in the pores then it will weaken hair roots causing hair loss in men

xena: I also recommend not drinking milk, you'll just get more lactic acid in your muscles, don't shave your legs on raceday or the day before etc.. Also; warming up before a race is best done in the car with the heater on max! ;-)

Newsflash: A lot of people have thin hair.
Also, a lot of people wear a hat, but most don't, yet many of them get thinning hair.. ?!
In addition, people with A LOT OF HAIR, will accumulate more sweat than those with thinning hair. You'd think there'd be a diminishing effect after a while if that really was the cause! ;-) PS. Didn't see any scientific references in that article.

We can make stupid decisions and we can make smart decisions. We have the choice, but making an informed choice is nicer. If people aren't perceptive to information I guess it will eventually just be natural selection. But if you are caring for someone at least make sure you have an insurance that kicks in if you're left immobilised in a nursing home or die. (Which is nice even if you wear a helmet).

Whoa... Detour detour... Back to the fabulous pics this thread is noted for. Seems it's getting derailed a bit. Although I did laugh at the hair loss excuse for not wearing a helmet. And what happened to the "Action shots" thread or whatever it was called. Race shots etc I thought were always better left in that thread while this thread is more of a "non-race" photo stream. Basically "On the road today" whatever that may be, aside from racing. Lots of those in the Pro Race thread and the "Action Shots" thread which I enjoyed too.

Agreed, Calnago.
I haven't shot many pictures lately due to little riding while ill, yet managed to capture this self portrait yesterday. I'm wearing pink, so if you are easily offended by men wearing pink cycling clothes I apologize (to a certain extent).

And they don't all have to be fabulous pics of gorgeous vistas we all dream of being able to ride everyday (yes Basilic I'm looking at you). Nothing wrong with a fun selfie here and there either. Just the local race pics I think should be in that "Action" thread.

Well, it was on the damn road, ok? ;-)
And I was just hoping to tick off that guy who was pissed about a friend of mine wearing a white Strava jersey with a pink stripe down the back, a few pages back here, but no.. :noidea:

Ok, here is a picture of the road. This is actually a World War II memorial of sorts. "We will win" was painted on the road by good Norwegians during WWII, risking their lives if revealed by the Germans. The site is also a stone's throw from Utøya, where the lone assassin and bomber shot and killed 69 people July 22 2012. A place to take one's mind off cycling, while cycling.

Samuel: No, a standard white/bianco Protone, although marked "Protone 2.0" as the model name on the inside tag. I've removed three stickers on the front, one reading "Protone" and the two, smaller ones reading "Kask". I've kept the other stickers toward the back.
