But dude, its not traditional. Because you know we should keep some of the awesome traditions of the pro peloton alive such as wool clothing, amphetamines, and doing almost everything for no reason than just that "its tradition".

I don't ever recall that the bands 'must be displayed on a white backgroud'. And ultimately it's saving us from the associated white knicks - which the boo boys seem to have overlooked (and is a much more hideous sight than an all black version).
KW nailed it.

I think it could work fine, but the problem I have is that it doesn't match the bibs properly (because they are very blue-black). When it was posted a few pages back you can see what I mean, the lighting in these pic's seems to hide it a little more.
Not matching is far more of a concern to me than it being black. First world problems ey?

World champion perks: you make the "rules", no need to follow.
Also Cipollini became so popular because he always followed the "code" to the letter.
PS: I think it's great.

Agree with the few guys above here saying the black WC jersey is nice. I think it looks sharp and honestly, prefer it to the pure white one...plus it will look a hell of a lot better during a race or afterwords. The white can look incredibly dirty/nasty....

Surprised nobodies mentioned Bobridges' hour record attempt this morning
Don't think he was ever on it.
Perhaps people will realise it isn't just a soft target. Also shows that Brandle's ride was a good un.
A few heroic failures can't help to raise the esteem of the event
