IMO women's racing is pretty dull most of the time. Not enough specialists like in men's racing.

I also find women cyclists a bit odd and not sexy at all. Bikes and Sex connection I find just a bit weird.

if you want to get cheap thrills from looking at woman there are sites available other than the pro thread

lol I was refering to the fact women pics are such a rarity in a forum consisting of almost entirely men, in a thread full of athletes' photos

These are starting to remind me of the Andy Schleck articles.

temperatures were apparently reaching 50 C according to some riders computers. I don't know but my garmin always reads 10 degrees hotter than what the temperature really is, especially on hot days.

still looks like a miserable place to ride

The Garmin temperature sensor is mostly picking up the temperature at the road's (or trail's) surface. The sensor itself is actually point at the back of the Garmin, which more than likely is facing downwards.

Common temperature readings on weather reports are atmospheric - and the gauge is usually suspended in the air a bit off the ground to negate ground effects. But because you're riding on the road (or trail), you are also subject to the heat from the path you're on. So if you're on black asphalt, which will be hotter than the air, you'll feel the effects of the asphalt's heat as well. Therefore the temperature on the Garmin is a lot closer to the temperature you are actually experiencing than what the weather report has predicted/measured.

It's a bit like living in a dense urban environment during a heat wave: sure the weather report will say that it will drop down at night, but if you've ever lived in the dense, concrete & asphalt heavy neighborhoods you'll know that the temperature out on the streets will stay much higher than the predicted temperature as the ground releases its gathered heat.
