Bobridge's failure shows that Brandle's ride was very good. His pacing especially.
Incredible, that Boardman could ride 56km back then, whatever position he had.

Looks like Bobridge went way too hard out the start and just burned himself out. Voigt's ride looks pretty solid from those data points, started out a bit under what he could sustain and then built up to where he plateaued. My only thought about Voigt's is if he could have reached his plateau speed a bit sooner and held it how much further could he have gone?

It sounds as if Bobridge's pacing should have put him considerably ahead of Brandle, had he stuck to it, but he went out much harder than necessary. Maybe it's just nerves? He's apparently cracked the TP squad before by going out too fast. Hopefully someone will convince him to have another go (and it's not logistically too difficult to setup again). I can't see him not being capable of beating the current record at least.

Its also why he wasn't that great of a TT'er at the WT level. Dowsett used to be the same way apparently.

Love watching the Pros ride the same roads I often roll on (I'm referring to today's Cadel Evans classic in Victoria, Australia). Miserable weather for it though.

The Cadel Classic was one of the most exciting races I've watched in a while. The very strong winds and rolling hills really made for an epic race.

cadel is really classy. I like the guy. my endearing image of cadel is probably summed up here. Climbing in drops whilst all others are on hoods.

Glad it came across well, as both men's and the women's races (I was driving the Total Rush support car) felt exciting to me.

But I am a rather biased local, so didn't really count my opinion.

Was the guide for UHC during the week, glad to see they didn't hit the deck on the left hander from Ceres up to the inner circuit in town. Off camber, wet - was always going to (sadly) see some guys drop it.

Cadel classy? I'm glad he retired. Every report from his former teammates suggests that he is a complete asshole to ride with/for and then he went and blamed them in the media for his inability to win a bunch of races. The video of him yelling at his teammates after a TdF stage and Gilbert laughing in his face pretty much sums it up. Wegelius' account of Cadel's time at Lotto was the icing on the cake for me.
