When I was researching my Cervelo Superprodigy in 2004 (prior to purchase), someone at Cervelo said via email that the 58cm frames were "about 3 pounds", which is 1362g. Well, my frame is 1670g. :D

I weighed it at the shop before I handed over the cash, so I could've backed out of the deal. Ok, the Cervelo guy was probably just giving me a rough estimate, but still...

I didn't really bother me; I was satisfied that it wasn't a brick. In fact, I wasn't too comfortable with the idea of having a sub-1400g frame back then when I was over 90kg.

Having said all that, I'm not a true weight weenie, coz my lightest bike is about 8.5kg :D

Specialized S-Works CG-R seatpost : claimed 200, real weight 259g. So, + 29.5%

I can be wrong, and have plenty of examples for that ;)

I've got a pair of Conti Sonderklasse tires where the label on the tire itself reads 165 grams, actual weight 213 grams and 216 grams. 30% more than claimed weight. That's probably the one that is furthest off that I've seen.

It is scandium. Still heavier than expected (it only set me back $25).
