Hello Weenie Friends
Next week I'll be in SF (Burlingame) for a few days and have the chance to go riding whilst I'm there.
Anyone who knows the area and can recommend a couple of routes for me would be much appreciated.
I'd be looking at rides of 50+Km with some decent climbing anything around 1000m by the end of the ride would be good.
Thanks in advance

Paging JRMilliron...

Seriously just go on Strava and use the heatmap beta. If that is too much work, simply ride West. You will end up going over some of the coolest mountain passes in all of the Bay Area and you really can't go wrong.
Don't take me too seriously. The only person that doesn't hate Froome.

up Kings

left on skyline

right on la honda

right on 1

right on tunitas creek rd ( there is about 3 miles of 13 %)

stop at the bike hut for water
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/''/tuni ... d37.367909

down kings home

Best ride in the USA, going to be about 6,500 feet of climbing

PS you could also just go along 1 ( on the coast ) then climb tunitas creek rd home...

for local options, try Guadalupe Canyon (too wide, but moderate car traffic) + Summit Road to Mount San Bruno summit. Nice view up there, and a good climb.

From the east side, climb Guadalupe, turn R at the park entrance, loop around to the R to pass back under Guadalupe, then climb to the top.

Thanks dj :) That certainly looks like it will hurt. Now all I need to do is find it

I second uraqt's route.

There are a number of great climbs heading over from the bay to ocean side. Heading over to the ocean - to name a few Kings Mountain road, Old La Honda, Page Mill road. Coming back there is Tunitas Creek rd or Old La Honda west plus others...

All great riding!
