I'm not much of a reader except for Cyclingmagazines and newspapers.
Is there any good literature on Roadcycling out there?

The one to read over and over is The Rider by Tim Krabbe.....intense and unforgettable.....anyone else read it?
i'm dragging this thread back from the past as i have been digging out bike books lately. i've got the time as my back is out of action for the moment with a slipped disc. siatic nerve trouble etc.
anyway i want to say Tim Krabbe's book The Rider is both a great book on riding and a great book. I real alot and it is a brilliant piece of literature in the vein of Stephen Crane's "The Red Badge of Courage". If you haven't, read it. It's incredible.
Other great books I've dug up from internet lists are:
- The Death of Marco Pantini - part examination of racing and biography. Very well written and very readable. Covers the major EPO phase of the 90's.
- Kimmage Memoirs "A Rough Ride" (great honest account of trying to be a pro and be clean)
- Wide Eyed and Legless (journalist embedded in tour de france team)
- French Revolutions (funny and pretty neat and inspiring)
- The Flying Scotsman - join O'Bree for a wild ride thru his psyche. Amazing guy and amazingly candid book. Big surprise at end which I won't ruin here.
And of course online there is always The Bike Snob.
