Benefits of tight shorts and jersey?

Again, chipping in late here too, but one thing I like about the tighter fit is the jersey pockets. I carry a lot of stuff in my pockets (phone, keys, flat kit), and a tighter fitting jersey keeps that stuff held against my back and not bouncing around.

Thanks again folks. All the info here has been really helpful. Was riding yesterday and it was a bit windy and the flapping was annoying, and it did feel like there was more resistance.
There's a Rapha club store near me, going to head there today to try on some gear to see how it fits. Will let you know how it goes.

If you've already been wearing tights (i presume padded) under your MTB shorts that are comfortable, why not try shorts or bibshorts from the same manufacturer.
As has been mentioned here a few times, fit is the most important criteria for bibs. Plenty of manufacturers to try on!

Hahah!
So I picked up a jersey and bib by Search and State. Took some measurements of myself and got the size that matched up best. I'll see how the fit is when they arrive.
I did my first ride today with SAS kit and wow, riding with a bib is amazing. Different world than riding with padded shorts. Really love it. Thanks all for making me see the light.

They don't want to see it, a corset would work wonders.
Look at this guy not getting it.
Yeh I wear casual clothes if on a short casual ride. And bibs and jersey on all longer rides. Pretty much anything longer than a quick trip to the corner store. Way more comfortable.

Biggest downside to tighter-fitting clothing: getting the sweaty jersey off is a struggle.
oh, I 'get it'.russianbear wrote:mattr wrote:russianbear wrote:How else is everyone suppose to see my bulge?
