Can anyone suggest a hotel, B&B or hostel in and around Nice? I'm travelling in the 2nd week of July.

Anyone with routes or riding tips please also share.

Thanks in advance!

+1 on Knef's link.
If you only are there a short time then choose wisely.
I thought Col de la Madone was fun (I would recommend it) but it was shorter than I imagined and perhaps overrated given the notoriety.
Col de l'Ecre from the Nice Ironman Triathlon route is pretty fun but may be a bit too long or too epic depending on what you are after.
Just hanging out* while ordering a salad Niçoise with Pastis (go with Richard*) while critiquing* the form of cyclists, runners, and rollerbladers on the Promenade des Anglais is arguably as pleasant as a real bike ride.
*My inability to ride bikes at the moment my have influenced my recommendations
However, next time I'm in Nice I'll soon find myself at Col du Bonette. It's a 2hr drive from Nice so it's likely notgoing to fit your itinerary but that ride up Bonette is transcendental. Next time in town, I'll make my way there.

Madone doesn't have a notoriety for being hard though? It's used as a test by the pros because it's close to Nice, it almost never snows down during winter (making it an all year climb) and it's length is similar to some of the longer climbs in the Alps.

I'll have to add that Col du Turini is a must ride. That's an amazing climb.

I've stayed in Vence quite a few times, and absolutely love Col de Vence. The descent through Le Broc and Carros is fabolous as well.

Thread resurrection - I'm heading out to Nice in May and wondered whether anyone had a hotel recommendation. Small group of us, so hopefully cyclist friendly and reasonably central.

Can anyone recommend a restaurant in Galway City for a hen Party of 15. We had thought Cactus Jacks but they won't allow Hen Parties In - great to see in a recession that people can turn down 15 covers!!! O-O
