What is the proper way to store my new beautiful full carbon bike when not in use? It's currently in my room on the floor upside down on carbon seatpost and carbon handlebars because I don't want it to fall over when I'm not around. Is that a bad idea?

There are a number of decent bike stands available from many bike shops or online.
There is also nothing wrong with leaning it against the wall. What do you think we all do when we stop for a coffee or toilet break?
Also, when out riding it is not feasible to pop your bike upside down as you could scrape or damage your stem, bars and saddle if you are on a rough service.
At home I use a double stand and wheel stands as I have several bikes in the family, so keeps them neat.

I put wall mount hooks in the living room so I can look at mine while I eat, watch TV, do homework, etc....

Kick your significant other out of the bed (move her to the couch) and use her spot to store the bike on. No one will say anything if you cuddle with it during the night.
