I want Silicone Grippers on my bibs, nothing else works
Moderators: robbosmans, Moderator Team
Just a rant here. I swear I have tried on nearly all brands of bib shorts with whatever type of leg finish that the manufacturer SWEARS won't move. But, in my experience, nothing stays in place like bibs finished with silicone grippers.
Anyone else experience this, or am I crazy? I hate it when shorts creep up my leg during the entire ride.

Couple of things to consider
a. Buy the right size shorts
b. Buy longer legged bib shorts
c. Shave the area

I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

Hmmmm...kinda agree. Can't say I've ever had an issue with migrating shorts.
I agree with you for a simple reason; lycra by aging tend to lose the elasticity which it has when you buy it and it will tend to wear shorter or anyway "move".
NB: my english is crap, hope you got my point.

I won't buy shorts with silicone grippers. For me, long hot ride = sweat = nasty rash under the silicone.
Lately buying Garneau which stay in position fine.

There's sometimes a buggy.
How many drivers does a buggy have?
One.
So let's just say I'm drivin' this buggy...
and if you fix your attitude you can ride along with me.

I'm with donham1. I much prefer silicone grippers. I have a pair of Garneaus and can't stand them. hort legs with large quSo to each his own. If you have short legs with large quads, most bibs without good grippers will ride up...at least they do on me....and, as was mentioned, particularly after you have worn them for awhile.

I don't get this topic. Some have personal preferences and have the solutions available.
OK it is a rant, but the actual question of the topicstarter is: 'am I crazy?'
I don't see the topicstarter provide any more info on bibs he tried, and he doesn't reply in this topic.

De zwarten- sorry for the lack of a list of brands, and that I didn't add any more to this thread(I don't live on weight weenies...)Here is a list of every bib that hasn't worked for me:
Garneau- Corsa 2.0, Equipe, Mondo Evo
Pearl- anything by them with no gripper, those PI's with gripper stay in place
Bellwether- Chronos
Sugoi- RS, RSE
I always buy the correct size for myself. I am taller, at 6'3"/1.92m, and have a hard time finding bibs in the first place that are long enough.
It looks to be about even on the opinions of whether or not non silicone-rimmed bibs actually work for each individual.
Anyways, thanks for all of the feedback here!
