Reccomend me a saddle bag

Guys,

Im looking for a saddle bag to carry my phone, some cash and keys.

My phone is 151mm x81mm x10mm. (6" x3.2" x0.4")

I was looking at the Elan 210 Carbonium style bag, but that bag is a bit small in length and width.



Any recommendations?

Hey, a Kingston rider! I spent four years there when I was working for the university.

If you're looking to carry personal items, why not stick those in your jersey pocket and use the saddlebag for your flat kit?

Although a good suggestion, I want to have it big enough for these items should I do something dumb like ride shirtless, or in standard Street clothes on a ride to work.

Blackburn Barrier. various sizes. I know of nothing lighter.

I like the Lezyne, which has separate pockets specifically for a tool, patch kit, cash. It works really well.

It's not particularly light, however.

My favorite are the Ortlieb bags. Quick on/off mount with no velcro.

Fits:
2 spare tubes, wrapped tightly
Tire lever
co2 and inflator
master link
patch kit
shift cable

If I took 1 tube out I could easily fit an iPhone in there.

I also have a Note 3. It does fit in the Blackburn Barrier I have, but to put the rest of the gear in there... kind of stresses things out.

This was my answer (it's not for everyone).....

My Note was very expensive, and has a $100 deductible for damage. Anything that holds it well on the bike costs over $30. I did find an excellent waterproof handlebar mount I liked, but having a dashboard on the bike is a little too much for me.

My alternative... Tracfone. Purchased at Best Buy yesterday for $5 (really). $20 gets me 3 months of minutes. Sadly, here in New York, 180 days ($45 total spent) will easily cover the riding season.

My Note weighs 211 grams (including lightweight protective back).

My new kit weighs only 150 grams more than my Note, but includes everything you see here (except the scale, obviously):

Surprisingly, there is actually a little room left in the bag. Easily add another CO2, keys and cash.

The phone can be charged, turned off, and is very useable, two months later (with no recharge).

I have a Note 2 also. I gave up on finding anything that will fit it. I just use a Ziploc bag and put it in my jersey pocket.

Getter, that's how I carry mine, when it goes along. Fits the Ziploc sandwich perfectly.

Today, I pulled it out, and it slipped from my gloved fingers... hitting the ground. The protector did its job, but I've learned my lesson... it's staying home from now on.

I'm a bike noob. No jerseys for me (yet).

Today I did the unthinkable until I get a bag setup. Ziploc bag with phone in it with 3 zip ties holding it to the top tube.
I need a bag badly. (embarrassed)

I tried out one in a bike store recently. The straps and padding make me feel confident that it would hold up well on the road.

The Note 3 fit really well, and remained useable through the window. If you wanted to use GPS or Strava, this would be great.

I'm certain this is the one I tried in the store, as I took a picture of the barcode (859195003279). I'm still considering buying one. Seems very weatherproof, as well.

For a phone this large, I didn't trust any of the other bike-clamp models. I liked the strap. And, with a phone this large, the strap works well, bracing between the stem and the handlebars.
