Quit weight weenieing

I pretty satisfied with my scott spark. It weighs 18lbs. I could put on ax lightness handlebars, and extralite stem, for the cost and saving 50 grams its not worth it. Plus I could replace my Sram XX World Cup brake for Formula R1's, but I would only end up saving grams. I'm done with this, i'm just going to take the money and spend on vacations...
You'll be back. Long before you get that vacation...

No one's forcing you to be a weight weenie. If you want to suffer the ridicule and indignity resulting from not having tuned your derailleur bolts to save 3 grams, then that's your own business.

I agree to some extent. Just "upgraded" my elixir r brakes to Saints with Goodridge hoses.
It's worth the weight penalty. The control and confidence I get from 1 finger braking results in faster downhill sections and less fatigue in the forearms.
Also got a type 2 mech, which despite the weight penalty is a very functional improvement.
In all fairness I did offset all this by going tubeless and lighter wheelset.
So weight added must improve function!
