I rode SIDI for a few years, but when I went to S-works it felt as if the specialized were 3 sizes bigger in width alone. To the point I couldn't understand how I rode SIDI without loosing a foot to poor blood flow! The only complains I have about the specialized are the colors and the fact that after 2 years 2 out of 4 of the dial ratches need replacing. They are my only pair of shoes, so I am trying to figure out a way to have them service by warranty without loosing weeks of riding in the process.

A lot of this depends upon the volume of your foot, the thickness of your insoles etc... For me, it wasn't a big change really, my toes could spread a bit more in the Specialized but aside from that the rest of the foot was fairly snug just like the Wires are now. Everyone's feet are drastically different, look at someone like Fabian Canc who I think has worn basically every major shoe brand in the past 7-8 years of his career, he seems to be able to travel between them just fine...

Either new S Works road shoes, or Rapha GTs, my 74s get not when it's 100+
I definitely need to replace my S Works MTB shoes this year, they're going on 4 years old and are finally showing their age.

Anyone on DMT Vega? Those look super nice.
Somebody has any info on those compaired to Sidi?
I'm battling between the new Sidi Wire, SWorks and the Vega's.

From the videos on DMT's site the Vegas look pretty similar to the Prisma 2.0 and almost identical to the Prisma 2.0-version worn by Philippe Gilbert. He had them made with two Atop retaining loops over the one on the regular version. The Vega however have Atop replaced by two Boa loops.

From my use the single Atop loop was insufficient at providing even tension over the top of the foot. Tension is too high at the top and lowers further toward the toes. I prefer my shoes tight on my foot and this exacerbates the issue. Otherwise the shoe is really nice and well made.

On the Vega the issue seems rectified, with the new split/double loops/tighteners the shoe has to be much better on the foot because pressure can be less unevenly distributed. Shoes should be tried on first though.. :-)

Shimano SH-R170. Nice wide toe box, much better than my old Sidi Zetas. Lighter, too. So far so good.

Does anyone know if the Shimano shoes in wide have longer straps too? I need long straps for my high arch.

I have a very high instep and arch's.. I have been using the 320's in a wide and I must say they are perfect. I have had issues with other brands with the top strap always being to short. The other direction would be to go to some shoes with the BOA system. :beerchug:

My 2013 wires are still rocking, so no new shoes.

Just got me a pair of the new Vega. Size 44 black.

Fit feels great, almost identical to my Shimano R320 also 44
My Sidi and Lake are both 44.5 = 44 in DMT

The weight is pretty good and the dual BOA holds the foot great.

Do you have to have a Shimano dealer preform the heat molding of their heat moldable shoes?
