I was chatting with some friends from Shenzhen and they said that in Guangzhou there's an area called "university city" where local teams use to go training.

Road biking in the center of the city Shanghai is tough, too much traffic, too many people, too many hybrid bicycles in the bike lane, many streets are closed for bicycles.
There is one district called Jin Shan, it is about 40 miles away from the city, it is part of the greater Shanghai metropolitan, you can road bike there, when I was there few years ago, I went there every weekend, the air quality is better, not so much traffic and people, I even clipped in, the problem is how to get there, you can't ride the bikes there, because only Highways connect it to the main city, if you have cycle cross bike then you can take these little path go thru the fields. It will take you few hours just to get there.
Recently they built a brand new train to this remote district from the center of city, but I am not sure if they allow you to take bicycles on board.

3 more weeks and we will be out there.... anybody in for a ride?

We are staying in Hongqiao area ;-)

But first the 2nd week in Var... a very nice region close to Marseille. Weather is perfect and biking is a lot of fun here. Even had some TdF colls ;-)

We are now almost a week in SH ;-)
Green Valley Villa (if somebody knows....). Hongqiao area.

Did not take my bike to SH (yet) as we (ehhh my wife) took already 6 suitcases... so no space left for my baby in the plane...

Havent seen any racers around yet... somebody from SH on the forum racing here?
