A short quote for your reading pleasure: "The World Record is the exclusive property of the UCI.
The UCI is the exclusive holder of all audio-visual, marketing and other rights relating to any attempt
to set a world or any other record. The UCI may surrender those rights on any conditions that it may
determine."
Am I the only one to go WTF?

@elviento - To me that's partly why I'm a little surprised people aren't as interested in a crack at the hour using a standard pursuit bike. All of the other times didn't just disappear and it's a great way to tell the UCI to get stuffed.
The UCI seems to want to control things so tightly it removes much of the incentive to go Merckx style IMO

Agree riding on pursuit bike would be cool. FUCI.
But to riding "Merckx" style, Anquetil's position is cool. He didn't figure out the "forearms on drops" trick.
