Any suggestions for riding in Dallas? I'm coming over for two or three days this week and have heard that there isn't a lot of cyclists about. I think I will be staying in the city and would appreciate any suggested routes for training rides - anything from a one hour up to four hour ride?

Hey, I grew up in that area, you'd be surprised by cycling following out there, some of the best group rides have been through some bike shops.

Check out these two shops, they've got weekly group rides that generally get ~20-30 people and range from Cat 2 to beginners, but after the first few miles will break up into sub-groups pending the speed.

Richardson Bike Mart - http://bikemart.com

Bicycles Inc. - http://bicyclesinc.com

If you feel the need to do a race, here is the local racing schedule, they've got a few weekly crit series to choose from: http://www.txbra.org/events/

If you do any mountain biking, I would highly recommend bringing that instead of a road bike. Dallas isn't the best area for road riding in my experience. It's not terrible, but be prepared for lots of angry drivers.
