Non-cycling friends: 'pro soccer is harder than pro cycling'

So, I suppose I'm retreading old ground here, but is it not the case that they're different? Not necessarily directly comparable?

I'm useless at soccer- poor decision making, technique leaves a lot to be desired. What I do have is an ability to train hard and push myself physically. I dare say that guys who are much better than me with a ball at their feet couldn't do what I can on the bike. It's just different.

And to be at the top level of any sport, you need to be incredibly talented and hard working.
