thanks for posting the link HammerTime.

it sure looks different knowing what we know now. on one hand, it's all factually true but nonetheless a big lie. on the other hand, knowing what he was actually up to, it all looks completely different and profoundly truthful. that opening shot of him preparing for the needle now has a completely different feel to it.

Just to settle an old score, remember our debate over this one:

" Last summer, the charity also ran interference when its executive director, Doug Ulman, issued statements raising questions about the integrity of Usada’s investigation. Livestrong also hired Washington lobbyists from Patton Boggs, the firm representing Mr. Armstrong in the doping case.

Livestrong’s stated purpose in visiting Capitol Hill lawmakers, according to lobbying records, included “issues related to support for the foundation’s activities.” But a spokesman for Representative José E. Serrano later said that the Usada investigation was the primary focus of the discussions.

We should have known that LA wasn't going to take the rap all by himself. Well, I didn't. But with 20-20 hindsight we should have known.

Now, I can't wait for Thursday. Who knew I'd become an Oprah fan of all things?

This would be one of the best things Armstrong has done if true.

And so the foundations of his political career were formed.

I would really love to see that.

I can imagine him then saying in a press conference:
"Hein Verbruggen and Pat McQuaid also have no place in cycling."

Suppose the only way to present himself as a victim is to blame people up the "food chain" (Team/UCI officials).

About the "UCI going down" -- nope. Verbruggen/McQuaid are not the UCI.

Its ok you guys saying The UCI is going down and it may well do . It may not be enough for just a few heads to roll . Then what body would replace it ? and more to the point the position of cyclings status could be damaged i.e. no Olympics or major games and then we have the issues of sponsors pulling out . IMO
the whole Armstrong thing has been a waste of time and has been a disaster for our sport and solved nothing.

What made you think things would go smoothly in the first place? (Regardless of Armstrong, "Puerto", "Mantova" or whatever investigation?)

Things have never gone smoothly. Cycling has doping issues all the time , over 100 years and has managed to bob along .The impact of these events could take things to a new level and not a good one.
Read Nicole Cooks retirement speech ...doping was ripe and it's ripe now.
