question to every member who bought a use Lightweight Standard Gen III wheelset. How much did you guys pay for a set. I am trying to decide if it's worth spending on a used set of lightweight wheelset or get a new Madfiber instead. THe asking price is $2700 for a used set in very good condition. what would you do ?

I don't like the look of Mad Fibre and do not want 60+mm profile wheels so would't choose them but they are lighter (especially considering their profile), stiffer and more aero than the Standard III. I've not heard too much on the MF road feel. The Standard III are billed as sublime.

Though on paper MF would be the obvious choice I would guess most would plump for the Lightweights.

Well, I have these wheels (bought them new, and love them), and in their ~12 month of use they have barely degraded.
$2,700 is a lot for used wheels, but if they are in pristine condition, it is still cheaper than buying new, and there are few used sets on the market. They will last a long time - and even longer as you can send them in to have the brake surface renewed.

If they don't show any damage (that is crucial), I would go for it.

I think 2700 is a great price for standard gen3s in good condition -- again, assuming they're true horizontally and vertically and braking surface is not scored. Rear hubs are DT Swiss so they're easily serviceable. Go for it!
