Suddenly my garmin can't attached properly to the garmin mount. It turns freely like if the bottom part of the garmin which swing on the mount and get attached by 90 degrees spin, turns without locking.
Anyone had this experience?

The mount is fine, I tired 2 different ones, it looks this round thing that is part of the Garmin it self that is on the bottom base of the Garmin, the one that inserted to the mount and by 90 degrees spin attached to the mount, changed his shape. I don't understand how.
Any idea? Anyone had it?

Or just have become worn so they don't engage properly now?

How long you had the Garmin?

The tabs do indeed look screwed but from the pictures it almost looks like they snapped with that rough edge rather than worn away.

Compared to mine which is going on 2 years now, it's a complete contrast. I do tend to upload after each ride or day's commuting so it is taken off the mounts regularly (Garmin & Raceware Direct).

I know that mine lasted less than 2 years before one of the tab broke

I have it more than 3 years

I spoke with Garmin Support, a long process but they are replacing my device under complete warranty even though I was out of warranty. Good service!

That's nice of them. They wouldn't do anything for me when it happened. Fortunately, I bought mine from a retailer who agreed that was crap and they replaced it for me (probably saved me about 2-3 months of waiting for garmin anyway).

My other option was going to be gluing the garmin to a mount and removing it by the elastics they include.

Now I'm really careful about installing/removing from the mount.

Happened to mine too.

For a cheap fix, buy a dead garmin off ebay (if available), unscrew both of them and swap over the back case. My friend had a dead one so cost me nothing.

No need Garmin replaced it in 2 days with a refurbished one. Now I'm much more carful and stingy with my mounting it on and off
